McNally Crane Hire has been in business since 1958 and was founded by proprietor Dan McNally. The organisation began as a family owned business and was incorporated in 1984. The organisation changed management for the purpose of expansion in 2000 and was chosen to complete several notable civil projects such as the Spire Project, Boyne Bridge and the Croke Park Project.
Upon realisation that the construction industry might become limited in the future the organisation expanded to undertake its first Wind Turbine Project in 1999 utilising a 400 tonne crane to erect 600 kw turbines for an organisation named Vestas. Expanding its wind turbine services to both the UK and Ireland McNally Crane Hire has become one of the leading providers of lift services for the wind energy sector. The company is actively involved in projects throughout Europe, Australia and the Falkland Islands.
McNally Crane Hire Fleet and Services
McNally Crane Hire offers a variety of services supporting the contract and construction sector. The company provides heavy crane lifting of up to 1200 tonne capacities and also provides tower crane erection and dismantling packages supplying qualified personnel. Site surveys and reporting from qualified engineers and AutoCad lift studies are available too. Heavy haulage is available with heavy ballast wagons and extendable trailers. The company also offer general crane hire and contract lifts to ICPA/CPA specifications.
McNally Crane Hire also provides specialist lifting tackle including man baskets, snatch blocks, spreader bars (for up to 500 tonnes), heavy wire ropes and spreader beams. The organisation has also become specialists in the erection of and servicing of Wind Turbines and is a member of the IWEA (Irish Wind Industry Association) using specialised wind hoist cranes. In 2011 McNally Crane Hire took delivery of the Liebherr LG1750 crane which was delivered to the Repower Windfarm Project near Baudignecourt, France.

The organisation is also ISO14001 and ISO9001 registered and certified.
McNally Crane Hire employs a full time Health and Safety Manager who oversees all plans and projects to review for safety concerns and governance. The Health and Safety Manager is in constant contact with the site managers to ensure productive and compliant operation of the equipment at all times.
